About the role
We are seeking a talented Technical Artist. In this role, you will leverage both artistic vision and technical expertise to solve complex visual challenges, optimize assets, and work closely with the art team, developers, and the art director. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to implement visual solutions that meet artistic direction while adhering to technical constraints
- Create and maintain game assets: materials, visual effects (particle effects), scenes, prefabs, shader graphs, animations, UI that achieve desired aesthetics within performance budgets
- Develop and optimize art pipelines, workflows, and tools to enhance productivity
- Import and configure game assets: textures, models, fonts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical art issues
- Create documentation and conduct training on art pipelines and best practices
- Evaluate and integrate emerging graphics technologies into existing workflows
- Optimize technical performance of visuals and effects: FPS, runtime memory, game size (across multiple platforms) - optimize assets, optimize scene to reduce draw calls
- Assist in establishing artistic and technical standards for content creation
- Create and maintain addressable asset bundles that package complete game features in a modular and developer-friendly way
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or similar role
- Strong understanding of the Unity engine: Rendering pipeline, Shader Graph, VFX Graph, Animator, Batching, Atlases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Visuals performance optimization experience
- Addressable and asset bundles experience
Nice to have
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language - C# or Python
- Shader development experience
- Portfolio demonstrating technical art solutions and problem-solving approaches
- Knowledge of graphics programming concepts
