Customer overview

Orca Security is a cloud cybersecurity company founded in 2019. In just three years, Orca became a unicorn with a $1.8 billion valuation, thanks to its patented SideScanning™ technology – a revolutionary, agentless technology for monitoring and analyzing cloud infrastructure and application risks.

Today, Orca is one of the most recognized brands in the cybersecurity industry, having been named to Notable Capital's "Rising in Cyber 2025" list for the second consecutive year and included by CRN among the 100 Hottest Cloud Computing Companies of 2024.

Our solution

Initial phase: Establishing core capabilities

Our collaboration began with supporting Orca in building the user interface for its cloud security platform. One of our developers contributed to the creation of the first dashboard MVP, which was delivered within five months and enabled Orca to win its first paying customer.

Team evolution and diversification

Following the initial success, Orca’s product ambitions grew, as did the complexity of the platform. To support this, we expanded the R&D team by recruiting specialists with diverse skill sets, We’ve reworked this section to avoid disclosing details of the internal team structure while still highlighting their specific functionality - please let me know if even this feels like too much.

Talent acquisition strategy

While scaling the team dedicated to Orca over the years, we’ve faced many challenges as the tech job market in Poland has changed, so we’ve had to adapt our recruitment strategies and remain flexible.

Key steps:

  • Local market advising. We delivered an in‑depth analysis of the Polish tech talent market and developed a recruitment strategy aligned with their growth needs. We identified the right talent pools, advised on positioning, and designed creative sourcing and headhunting methods tailored to the local environment.

  • Candidate sourcing. Beyond traditional channels like email campaigns, local job boards, and online tech communities, we also turned to more advanced methods. We reached candidates through industry conferences, ran targeted promo campaigns, published thought‑leadership articles in tech media, and used other creative sourcing tactics to boost Orca’s visibility among top engineers.

  • Screening and pipeline management. Our recruitment process includes several interview stages to ensure candidates meet both the technical requirements and the cultural fit for Orca. For rare roles, we review up to 600 profiles for a single hire.

  • Talent Engagement. We promote the Orca project  in Poland by embedding targeted engagement efforts into our recruitment strategy. This includes running PR campaigns in local tech media and organizing our own tech events in Warsaw to communicate the technical challenges and innovation culture associated with the project.

Results

By building a strong offshore development hub in Poland, we helped Orca launch and scale their product and quickly expand their engineering capacity in line with business needs. Today, we continue to support Orca’s growth by allocating new specialists.

Key outcomes:

  • Achieved a 40% increase in development efficiency
  • Scaled the team from 2 to over 55 specialists within 5 years, supporting critical product and infrastructure initiatives
  • Built a strong employer brand and engineering community in Poland
  • Took full responsibility for back-office services, including office management, HR, payroll, legal and daily operations, allowing the customer to focus entirely on growth

Real-life team collaboration

Throughout our partnership, the Warsaw team remains a natural part of Orca’s operations, staying well connected and highly collaborative . Communication between the dedicated offshore unit and in-house teams is transparent, with plenty of direct opportunities to collaborate.
